Been some places and had to find some things, have circumnavigated the earth. Dropped stuff from 30k feet, both guided and unguided, to hit precise coordinates. Having said that... if you give me a set of coordinates I might have a ballpark idea of what state it might be in but that’s about it. First thing I would do is whip out my phone and punch it into google maps and go from there.
One thing that is always irritating is the variations in coordinate format. I prefer degrees, minutes and decimal. But a lot of devices seem to use degrees and decimal. Easy enough to figure out if they tell you N3589 that it’s decimal and N35 53 is the degrees minutes equivalent but anything 59 and below and it becomes a guessing game whether it’s minutes or decimal.
