Some years ago an IPSC(?) instructor took out his thigh.

Local gun club south of me, fancies themselves the be-all and end-all, when it comes to most forms of handgun competitions. From what I heard, the instructor was demonstrating proper firearm handling protocols and popped a round into his thigh, upon re-holstering his pistol?

They also host SASS matches. Went to one years ago to see if it might be something that interested me? Had all the necessary firearms, kinda liked how they ran the shooting parts of it. But the period costumes and "gotta pick a handle" requirement didn't really get up in my head. Club is about a half hour drive from the PA/MD line. Struck me that over 90% of the vehicles had MD and VA plates on 'em and the shooters all appeared to be pretty well-heeled.
