That front lens is the reflective surface for the dot being projected onto it and then back toward your eye. The tilt determines the angle that's needed to make that happen.
In the future, remind customers of the following;
1) da dot bees at da bottom.
B) it's angled like that to shed rain so you can shoot invaders with the sprinklers running in Walmart, and
III) returns will be met with a 20% restocking and wasting my time fee.
