Didn't exactly build it, just dropped the 260 in. It fit so poorly that he had to move the steering box to the front of the axle, resulting in a car that didn't steer worth crap.
Engine had so much torque (compared to the 1500cc I4) that the first time he floored it, it shredded all the spokes in the rear wheels. All subsequent Tigers had pressed-steel wheels.
In contrast, Shelby did it right.
