For the words of wisdom regarding the purchase of a "gaming" speed computer and how to handle it.

After hearing and comprehending the ups, downs, ins, outs of solid state machines, I'm going to purchase a standard "gaming" computer, probably an HP Omen that will be strictly for high-end computer graphics and will be not only off-line but only for operations that are non-critical and can be backed up to small side-drives or DVD's for archiving.

My aging HP Pavilion with Window 7 on it will be replaced by another HP Pavilion with Windows 10 Pro on it with a recent "Windows 10 Shut Up" program or programs like it to be the one to go online. HATE what M!cr0s0ft is doing but the programs I currently use don't like anything but Windows or similar. That seems to be the best all-around, all things considered.

Again, thank you very much, I've copied/pasted your advice and am moving forward. Oo-rah.
