Solid State Drives are the norm now...

I don't know where you get that a spinning disk drive with a published MTBF in the tens of thousands of hours is better than a Solid State Disk drive.

Solid State is where its at for drive technology. We haven't used spinning platters in 4 years.

On my personal laptops I run Samsung SSD drives in the 250 to 500GB range. I'm on the same drive now for four years with uptime measured in years, not hours. Never had one fail. So easy to use, so easy to install, so easy to backup and or replace if needed.

I just move my SSD drives from laptop to laptop now as I upgrade if I need to upgrade.
