I agree, Seiko makes fine, reasonably priced mechanical watches. I have owned 2 Seiko Diver's Automatics myself over the past 30 years.

The one I purchased in the 1980's died after 25 years of daily use when the dry rotted strap broke and the watch fell about eight feet onto concrete, the self winding mechanism quit working after that, but the watch would still run after manual winding so the pin that the self winding pendulum pivots on probably bent.

I replaced that with another Seiko Diver rather than repairing it, and I still wear its replacement to this day.
