At 4'11" an 89 years old, female does not have the strength, agility, mental capacity and aggressiveness much less ability, to successfully use a firearm to defend herself against a violent, dangerous criminal. I am not saying this as hard and fast rule, I am saying this as a person that has worked with plenty of geriatric patients. At that age and size using a firearm is not really a real world solution.

Are there exceptions to this rule? Certainly.

For the most part, when you get to that age younger criminals have a large and very distinct advantage, which a firearm is not going to give you an advantage in defending yourself.
